The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani, has vowed to fish out creators and peddlers of misleading information that caused anxiety in the state over the illegal sit-at-home imposed by some pro-Biafra groups in the South-East to protest against continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
SaharaReporters had reported that an acclaimed disciple of the IPOB leader, Simon Ekpa declared a one week sit-at-home in the South-East but the Enugu State Government already banned sit-at-home in the state and threatened to close businesses and schools that observed the illegal sit-at-home indefinitely.
Reacting to the incident, the state police commissioner reiterated that the police would not be deterred by the panic-causing and disinformation schemes of subversive criminal elements. He, however, wondered why the unscrupulous elements would raise such senseless false alarm with the accompanying fake news, which was circulated to create panic and chaos for the same people they claim to be agitating for.
The Command's Spokesperson, noted that the Commissioner has urged citizens of the State to be mindful of and disregard such malevolent schemes of the miscreants, which have over time become their stock-in-trade.
