The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday confirmed SaharaReporters’ story on the deductions of personnel salaries as Inspector-General of Police sport levy depending on the rank. The police in a statement noted that the deductions had been in force from “time immemorial and it was consolidated in the year 2003, and reviewed by the management of the Force in the year 2012.” The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Adejobi Muyiwa, stated this in the release, adding that the “deduction credited to the new Acting IGP was approved some months before his appointment.”
