The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has blamed the fuel scarcity in the country for the increase in fire incidents in the state.

She lamented that the agency received many false calls.

“The state government under the leadership of Mr Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwao-Olu has handed over 62 fire apparatuses, renovated and reconstructed existing fire stations, constructed four new fire stations while the construction of three additional fire stations is ongoing at Oworonshoki, Ijede and Ijegun Egba to further boost the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery in and around the state,” she added.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Mobolaji Ogunlende, in his remarks, said the state governor was passionate about the state fire service, adding that the agency was undergoing rebranding to reposition it for effective and excellent performance. He urged the public to desist from habits that might put unnecessary pressure on fire service operations in the state. All rights reserved.
