A former vice-chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba and the bursar, Ibrahim Usman, have been arraigned on eight counts by

the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for alleged theft and money laundering to the tune of N1 billion.

A petition accusing Garba and Usman of diverting monies meant for the renovation of the popular Kongo Conference Hotel, Zaria, from various accounts belonging to the institution into their private accounts followed months of careful investigation before the arraignment by the commission.
