Ex- ABU VC, bursar arraigned for N1b fraud | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News ⬇️
A former vice-chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, Professor Ibrahim Garba, and bursar, Ibrahim Shehu Usman, have been arraigned in court on an eight-count charge bordering on theft and money laundering to the tune of over N1b, by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission .
The duo was arraigned before Justice A.A Bello of the Kaduna State High Court. In a statement, the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said their arraignment followed months of discreet investigation triggered by a petition accusing them of diverting monies meant for the renovation of the popular Kongo Conference Hotel, Zaria.
The investigation established that over N1b was allegedly stolen from different accounts of the institution by the defendants and diverted into their private accounts
