A former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has cautioned the Emir of Kano against encouraging any form of domestic violence.
Emir Sanusi made the controversial remarks at the National Dialogue Conference on Gender-Based Violence which took place at Bayero University in Kano. In a post made on Facebook, Sani wrote, “His Highness Sanusi should not be encouraging this kind of domestic violence in the form of slapping and slapping back.”
He added, “If the man is becoming violent, the wife should protect herself by walking out to his family or her family home.
