The Educational Director, Cradles&Kickers School, Ogba, Mrs Bukky Adeyemi, has advised the Nigerian government to employ more people into the teaching service so that they will be able to cater for the educational needs of out-of-school children.
Adeyemi who gave this suggestion during the 14th and 15th preschool and grade graduation ceremony of the school maintained that a system to ensure that the out-of-school children were educated should be put in place by providing more resources in to education sector. She also said due to the COVID-19 lockdown last year, they had to merge two sets together 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 academic years for the graduation.
“Government should look into putting more resources in to education. There should be a system to train the out-of-school children littering around the country even if it is for two hours per day, this can be arranged for them because not everyone will go to the university so if they can read, write and do little sums, because a literate country will move forward. They should encourage and train the idle youths to come in to education to fill in the shortfalls,” she said.
Adeyemi also complained about the multiple taxation by the government on private schools, saying the government should reduce the taxes.
