The Lagos State Police Command and the Federal Road Safety Corp Lagos Sector on Thursday tasked Lagosians to join government agencies in ensuring security and safety in their communities.
The was stated at a security summit by the Rotary Clubs of Magodo and Canal estates in partnership with the Canadian Bridge Academy at Magodo, Shangisha, Lagos. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, who was represented by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr Tunde Adeniran, said the best approach to security is creating awareness and policing at the community level.
He said, “In this era of increasing crime wave, the participation of citizens in ensuring safety of lives and property cannot be underestimated. Safety and security issues can best be addressed at the community level through regular sensitisation, neighbourhood watch, community police services and visibility policing.
