The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested and detained four of the people who witnessed the killing of a football fan, Emmauel Samuel, in Abuja.had reported that the deceased, with his fiancée and friends, went to watch a football match on Sunday, July 11, when a policeman allegedly shot him after he cautioned the cop against accidental discharge.
A source close to the family told our correspondent that the police invited the family to come over with witnesses who could help with the investigation. The source said the witnesses were, however, detained, as the police tagged them prime suspects in the case. He said, “The victim’s family was asked to visit the Gwagwa Police Station with people that could help with investigation into the death of Emmanuel. They went with four of the people with him on that day. They were told to make statements. The four witnesses were locked up yesterday . Today , their family members went to see them, but they were not allowed in.”
