The election held on Saturday, 25th February 2023, was declared inconclusive due to some irregularities.Adigun, who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party , has, however, been declared the winner of the election.

The INEC Returning Officer, Professor Benjamin Olley of the University of Ibadan, announced him as the winner at the Mapo Hall, the collation centre for the election.With this announcement, the APC has secured nine House of Representatives seats, while the PDP has secured five seats.
