Haruna said Muhammad Yakubu of the African Democratic Congress scored 283 votes, Halilu Aliyu of Action Democratic Party scored 117 votes, and Ahmad Abdullahi of the Labour Party scored 17 votes. Also, Sulaiman Abdullahi of New Nigeria People’s Party scored 722 votes and Shuaibu Basiru of the Social Democratic Party scored 14 votes.“Ibrahim Kabiru of PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared winner and returned elected,” the returning officer said.

INEC had earlier announced winners in the federal legislative, governorship, and state house of assembly elections held on February 25 and March 18. However, the electoral umpire fixed supplementary polls for the governorship in Adamawa and Kebbi states after the elections were declared inconclusive.Supplementary elections were also fixed for five senatorial districts, and 31 federal and 58 state assembly constituencies.
