The Peoples Democratic Party has won the Southern Ijaw federal constituency supplementary election in Bayelsa State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared the party’s candidate, Rodney Ambaiowei, winner on Sunday. The Returning Officer, Prof Christopher Onyema announced that Ambaiowei polled a total of 13,992 votes. He defeated the incumbent House of Representatives member, Preye Oseke of the All Progressives Congress , who scored 12,992 votes.
