Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the president of LoveWorld Incorporated, has shed light on the departure of several prominent gospel artists from his church. He cites a lack of commitment to God's work and a focus on worldly pursuits as the reasons for their dismissal.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome , the president of LoveWorld Incorporated, has revealed that he dismissed several renowned gospel artistes from his church because they were not living up to God's expectations. Oyakhilome, a renowned author and televangelist, made this disclosure during Season 11, Phase 2 of 'Your LoveWorld', held from February 5 to 7 and uploaded on the church's YouTube page.
While he didn't mention the singers' names, speculation suggests that Osinachi 'Sinach' Egbu, Joe Praize, Frank Edwards, and Eben were among those who left. Oyakhilome stated that the music in the church had become worldly, with singers prioritizing self-celebration over worshipping God. He accused them of lacking commitment to soul winning, saying they would leave prayer sessions to perform at other churches. He described them as professionals making money from the church and emphasized that true worship should be centered in God's house, not through traveling 'worship leaders' collecting money. He warned that churches inviting these singers might one day stop because they would also eventually recognize the need to do the right thing. Oyakhilome stressed that while musical talent is important, dedication to God's work is paramount. He said he had shown the singers the right path through Scripture but that their pursuit of popularity and wealth had blinded them
