The move comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his suspension last year, following criticism over his wife’s lavish 60th birthday celebration shortly after the tragic helicopter crash death of former Access Holdings Managing Director, Herbert Wigwe in the U.S.
Wigwe who died in the crash alongside his wife and son were members of the City of David Parish. Pastor Iluyomade held the inaugural service on Sunday, January 19th, with viral videos showing him joyously dancing alongside his congregation. However, his wife, Siju Iluyomade, was noticeably absent from the footage, raising speculation among observers. His suspension from RCCG had included a three-month break and an investigation into allegations of misconduct. Despite the controversy, Iluyomade’s new venture has sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms.
