MEMBERS of Hunters Group of Nigeria in Osun State, has pulled out of South West Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps, citing lack of confidence in the leadership.

Addressing newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday, the state Chairman of the group, Nurein Ahmed, said the leadership of Amotekun owed hunters N29m that worked during the lockdown imposed by the state government in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak in 2020.

Ahmed, who said the decision of the group not to join Amotekun was not reversible, unless a change in leadership was effected, added that hunters in the state had taken oath to support Oyetola administration and ensure maximum security in the state. He demanded payment of the outstanding allowances of hunters that worked during the lockdown and further said the group would continue to assist other security agencies in providing security across the state.

Ahmed said, “I want to state here that many of our members were selected for recruitment into Amotekun in Osun, but we have resolved not to be part of the group.
