The Nigerian Navy has successfully discovered and deactivated illegal oil refining sites in Ondo State, seizing boats, generators, and large quantities of illegally refined AGO.

The Nigeria Navy announced that its troops from Forward Operating Base (FOB) IGBOKODA discovered and deactivated an illegal storage site containing one fibre boat, one wooden boat, one generator, one pumping machine, and several jerrycans filled with illegally refined AGO in Bajakere community, Ilaje LGA, Ondo State . The discovery was made on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Subsequently, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, a special team from FOB IGBOKODA intercepted and impounded a wooden boat carrying a large quantity of illegally refined AGO in Mahin Riverine Community, Ilaje LGA, Ondo State. The Navy Authority also displayed several exhibits recovered from the scene. This recent success follows significant breakthroughs by the Nigerian Navy in the arrest, discovery, and deactivation of numerous oil thieves operating in the Niger Delta region
