Ondo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo, has announced a crackdown on land grabbers and fraudulent sellers in the state. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has instituted a task force to address illegal property occupation and land disputes, with severe legal consequences for offenders.
Kayode Ajulo, attorney-general and commissioner for justice in Ondo, says land grabbers and fraudulent sellers in the state must desist from their illegal activities or face the law. In a statement on Tuesday, Ajulo said Lucky Aiyedatiwa, governor of Ondo, has launched a crackdown on land-grabbers in the state. The commissioner said a task force would be established to tackle illegal property occupation and land disputes, adding that offenders would face severe legal consequences.
Those unlawfully acquiring government lands, private property, or fraudulently selling the same land to multiple buyers must rethink their actions immediately, NAN quoted Ajulo as saying. The government is fully committed to enforcing the law and will take decisive action against violators. This is a scenario peculiar to some states, though I will prefer not to mention names, but we will not tolerate such illegal activities in Ondo state anymore before it gets out of hand. Ajulo condemned organised groups that have turned land grabbing into a profession, who, he noted, are disrupting community harmony and undermining the state’s development. He asked affected individuals to come forward and rectify their situations within the stipulated period. The attorney-general assured members of the public that the government remained dedicated to restoring order and protecting legitimate property owners. The administration of Aiyedatiwa will not tolerate any infringement on property rights. The law is clear, and those who cross it will face the full weight of justice, he added.
