The Nigerian Navy has commended stakeholders within the security architecture of Ondo State for the synergy exhibited in maintaining the existing peace and stability in the state.
According to the Flag Officer Commanding, FOC, Western Naval Command, Nigerian Navy , Rear Admiral Michael Oamen, the robust relationship among the various security agencies in the state had assisted in no small measure in tackling security challenges. Speaking during a familiarisation tour of units and establishments under his command, Oamen emphasised that when seeking intelligence or guidance, one of the places to approach is the traditional institutions.
In doing so, I also pay respect and express appreciation to stakeholders for the support they provide to the units in their respective states. 'We are aware of the critical role traditional rulers play. It would be unwise to disregard their importance,” he said. On his part, the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, who is the Chairman of the State Council of Obas, expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Navy for its contributions to maintaining peace in Ondo State.
