Police in Jigawa State have arrested a 25-year-old man, Usman Khalil, over alleged impersonation as a mobile police officer.

The spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to DAILY POST on Wednesday. He said the suspect has been impersonating mobile police attached to 35PMF Dutse Jigawa State and intimidating people. According to him, “Before his arrest, the suspect was reported to have gone to one Aliyu Bako shop at mechanic village in a police uniform with a gun, and bought some food commodities on credit and promised to pay as soon as he fixed his salary account.

Later, the fake police officer failed to keep his promise, and the victim reported the matter to the police authorities.DSP Shiisu said the suspect and exhibits were transferred to SCID Jigawa for a discreet investigation.
