Afuye died on Wednesday evening at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) after being rushed down over cardiac-related issues. The Speaker was elected as the Speaker of the sixth assembly in 2019. He represented Ikere I constituency at the state legislature before his demise.
