The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Funminiyi Afuye is dead. Afuye died on Wednesday evening at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) after being rushed down over cardiac-related issues. The Speaker was elected as the Speaker of the sixth assembly in 2019. He represented Ikere I constituency at the state legislature before his demise. Afuye served as Commissioner for Information during the first term of former Governor Kayode Fayemi between 2010 and 2014.
