Mortuary officials and Pathologists at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, have pleaded with the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, to lift the burial ban in the state, saying the hospital morgue can no longer admit new corpses.
The Management of the FMC, however, called on the governor to relax the executive order restraining burials to check the spread of the coronavirus in the state and allow the dead to be buried by their families. He also said there are foreseeable hiccups if nothing is done to evacuate the corpses from the morgue between now and June.
