A fresh graduate of Petrochemical Engineering from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Mr Precious Chidozie James has been shot dead by hooded gunmen. He was murdered near his family compound in Owaza, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State.
Chidozie James, who was preparing to go for mandatory National Youth Services Corps, NYSC, was killed on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at about 2:15 am after accompanying his elder brother, Enyeribe James, the head of Ukwa East/Ukwa West anti-bunkering task force of Independent Petroleum Marketers of Nigeria on a night patrol in the area.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing of the fresh graduate, even as the family of the victim are begging the concerned government agencies for justice. Reacting to the ugly development, the Mayor of Ukwa West LGA, Dike Nwankwo described the killing of the young man as unacceptable, pointing out that initial reports from the Divisional Police Officer of Ukwa Division, confirmed that they have no clue yet of the assailants.
