Valued at $10 million, the facility represents a significant investment in Nigeria's aviation sector.
Keyamo emphasized that while the government may not have the financial resources to directly fund private sector projects, it would create a conducive environment and implement policies that foster growth and development like Xejet's initiative. He pledged continuous support for local operators, stating, 'This is a huge achievement; the concept alone, getting the backing and bringing it to fruition like this, to start off work, with one of the best construction companies we have, is a dream come true. Let me say that we have also attracted similar projects to the part of the airport you're seeing.' Keyamo further assured Xejet of unwavering government support, promising technical assistance, regulatory compliance oversight, and collaboration with relevant agencies. Xejet CEO, Emmanuel Iza, expressed the company's commitment to elevating aviation services in Nigeria to global standards. He explained that Xejet aims to achieve this through cutting-edge technology, superior engineering, and exceptional flight support. Iza outlined the project's two-phase development, with the first phase focusing on ground preparation and taxiway construction, which is estimated to cost over $5 million. The second phase will involve building the facility itself, with an anticipated similar investment.
