Former France international Adil Rami criticizes Cristiano Ronaldo's assertion that the Saudi Pro League is superior to Ligue 1.
Former France international, Adil Rami , has criticized Cristiano Ronaldo 's recent remarks claiming the Saudi Pro League is superior to the French Ligue 1 . Rami, a member of France's 2018 World Cup winning team, responded to Ronaldo's comments made after receiving the Best Middle Eastern Player award at a gala. Ronaldo asserted that in Ligue 1 , only PSG was a recognized club, with all others considered insignificant.
In an interview with French website ActuFoot, Rami contested Ronaldo's assessment of the French top flight. 'CR7, we may love him, but that doesn't mean because he had a fantastic career, as soon as he says something, it's the truth!' he stated. 'The guys in Saudi Arabia are overweight. They eat McDonald's every day! Come to France overweight, and see how long you last! You don't realize the level of Ligue 1.' Rami has represented numerous French clubs, including Lille (2006-2011) and Marseille (2017-2019)
