Tinubu, a former two-term former governor of Lagos State, unveiled his anti-corruption plan in a statement on Monday, during a discussion with the Arewa Joint Committee in Kaduna over the 2023 election.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress , Bola Tinubu, has promised to fight corruption by focusing more on preventive measures if elected as president in the 2023 election.

In the report released in January, Nigeria scored 24 out of 100, a point lower than its performance in the previous 2020 CPI report. The presidential hopeful also vowed that his administration would support the existing anticorruption institutions, and also, address the underlying issues of corruption in the oil industry.

Apart ftom Nigeria’s unimpressive ranking on the Transparency International , on Mr Buhari’s watch, a number of cases of corruption are believed to have been swept under the carpet.
