Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, should step down and throw his weight on him (Tinubu) for the 2023 general elections. Tinubu said this on Monday when he met with members of the Arewa Joint Committee in the North for an interactive session organised by a coalition of six Northern groups including the Arewa Consultative Forum, Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Northern Elders Forum, Jamar Matan Arewa, among others at Arewa House in Kaduna.

Tinubu said this on Monday when he met with members of the Arewa Joint Committee in the North for an interactive session organised by a coalition of six Northern groups including the Arewa Consultative Forum, Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Northern Elders Forum, Jamar Matan Arewa, among others at Arewa House in Kaduna.
According to a video shared by a Twitter user, @Sirodue1, Tinubu said he dropped his ambition in 2007 and endorsed Atiku who contested under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria . “It’s payback. Let him endorse me instead of conducting rallies around Kaduna while I’m talking to great people here. Let the credit be enough and pay back in good measure.”
