The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) issued a strong statement refuting a recent unauthorized convention held by individuals claiming to represent the party. The NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, addressed a press conference emphasizing that the party is unified under his leadership and recognized by INEC. He condemned the individuals behind the fake convention as sponsored elements and impostors, highlighting their multiple court losses and attempts to mislead the public.

The New Nigeria n Peoples Party ( NNPP ) issued a statement addressing recent events involving individuals claiming affiliation with the party. Dr. Ajuji Ahmed , the NNPP 's National Chairman, addressed a press conference to clarify the situation. Ahmed stated that a convention held by individuals at Apapa, Lagos State, who purported to be members and leaders of the NNPP , was an assault on the party's integrity and the Nigeria n people.

He emphasized that these individuals are not genuine members or leaders but are sponsored elements. Ahmed affirmed that there is only one legitimate NNPP under his leadership, recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He stressed that it is illegal and unethical for any group to call itself NNPP without proper authorization. Ahmed explained that the current NNPP National Working Committee (NWC) was formed in 2022 under INEC's supervision, as mandated by the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act. He addressed the actions of former party members who engaged in anti-party activities after the 2023 elections, stating that they were subjected to disciplinary procedures and subsequently sanctioned. Ahmed asserted that these individuals, instead of addressing their grievances through internal party mechanisms, have become tools for external forces seeking to disrupt the NNPP. He highlighted their numerous unsuccessful legal attempts to undermine the party, including multiple court losses in various locations across Nigeria. He further revealed that these individuals, despite being declared as impostors by a Federal High Court in Abuja in April 2024, attempted to hold a meeting in Lagos claiming to be the NNPP. This meeting, held in defiance of a court injunction, was described as a charade and a beer parlour gathering. Ahmed concluded by emphasizing that the NNPP does not operate from Apapa and did not hold any conventions in Lagos this year. The party maintains its legitimacy and integrity under his leadership and the recognition of INEC
