Aminu Jaji, a member of the House of Representatives representing Zamfara State, has welcomed former governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election, Muhammad Kabir-Sani, and members of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly candidates’ forum into the All Progressives Congress ( APC ). The defection, which involved thousands of AAC and PDP members, took place after a meeting with Mr. Jaji at his residence in Gusau. \Mr.
Kabir-Sani, speaking on behalf of the defectors, stated that their decision to join the APC was based on the impressive performance and good representation of Mr. Jaji in his constituency and Zamfara State in general. He cited Mr. Jaji's developmental achievements as a key factor in their decision. Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, representing the PDP state house of assembly candidates’ forum, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the APC's strength as the dominant political party in the state. \Mr. Jaji, who serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Ecological Fund, expressed his gratitude for the defectors' choice to join the APC, describing it as a positive development for the party in Zamfara and Nigeria. He assured them of fair treatment and collaborative relationships to enhance the APC's capacity in the state. Mr. Jaji expressed confidence that the political experience and calibre of the defectors, particularly their leaders, would strengthen the Jajiyya movement and the APC family. Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka, the State Chairman of the APC-Jajiyya movement, described the movement as the most influential political group in the state, boasting active structures across all 14 local government areas. He pledged to integrate all defectors into the party's activities without discrimination.
