Have you taken a moment to contemplate the harrowing condition that awaits the people of Zamfara state in the next six months? Would it be persecution or death without farming and businesses?

As a stakeholder in Maradun local government and a resident of the Gusau local government area, I am inundated with distressing calls and messages almost every day, reporting unfortunate killings and kidnappings of our fellow Zamfarans.Recently, on July 16, 2023, we had the relief of welcoming four brothers from the same family who miraculously escaped from their abductors.

The escalating insecurity in Zamfara has reached truly terrifying heights, putting the lives of our parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles in constant jeopardy. They can no longer venture out to their farms safely, nor can they sleep at night with peace of mind. Their livelihoods and safety have been shattered.
