England head coach, Gareth Southgate, has explained why his team lost 2-1 against France in Saturday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-final tie in Qatar.
Southgate said his team lost against France because the Three Lions let two goals in and missed a few chances against the defending Champions.
The 52-year-old watched as two goals from Aurelien Tchouameni and Olivier Giroud gave France the victory over England.Speaking at his post-match press conference after the game, Southgate said, “For me, we win and lose as a team, we’ve let two goals in and missed a few chances. “[Kane] He’s been incredible for us and so reliable in those sorts of situations we wouldn’t be here, but for the number of goals he’s scored for us.”
