England head coach, Gareth Southgate, has insisted he needs time to ‘reflect’ before confirming whether he is ready to continue as the Three Lions manager

Southgate is under contract until the summer of 2024.

England’s 2022 World Cup campaign came to a heartbreaking end against France last night after promising so much in Qatar. France took a first-half lead, thanks to Aurelien Tchouameni’s long-range effort, but Harry Kane levelled for England after converting a penalty 10 minutes after the re-start. Southgate’s men looked the more likely winners at that stage, but striker Olivier Giroud’s header proved decisive before Kane missed another opportunity from the spot to take the game to extra time.
