Environmental organisations have called for the stoppage of proposed incinerator construction in Lagos State.

They said that incinerators emit higher levels of CO2 per megawatt-hour compared to coal, natural gas, or oil power plants, and is detrimental to the climate, as well as it will not help Nigeria meet its commitments under the Nationally Determined Contributions .

SRADeV Executive Director, Dr Leslie Adogame, call on Lagos State government not adopt outdated technologies that are being phased out in the Global North. Concerned Nigerlites Organisation, in collaboration with Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support organisation, National Youth Council of Nigeria and others, has opposed the planned national protest, noting that it is not solution to the socio-political and economic crises bedeviling the country.

The Nigeria Customs Service , yesterday, announced that it had surpassed its half-year revenue target of N2.54 trillion by eight per cent, and collected a total of N2.74 trillion. Residents of Oke-Afa Community Development Committee , Magboro, Obafemi-Owode Local Council of Ogun State, have lamented the suffering they face due to the deplorable state of roads in the area.
