The Senator representing the Cross River State southern district, Gershom Bassey has given reasons he sponsored a bill to amend the federal constitution
He gave the explanation on Tuesday when he presented his eight years of legislative experience as a Senator in the National Assembly.
According to him, when signed into law, it would give oversight powers to the National Assembly over any fund or account created for the purpose of saving excess government revenue. Bassey stated that he personally sponsored 18 Bills and co-sponsored 17 others, including a bill for an Act to amend the Nigerian Flag and Coat of Arms Act cap f30, 2006, as well as Federal College of Forestry Technology and Research, Akamkpa bill, 2018.
