We spent N58.5m on COVID-19 palliatives – Emir of Ilorin
The monarch, who is also the Chairman, Kwara Council of Chiefs, made this known in a letter of appreciation sent to those that donated the money and materials shared during the palliatives programme.
The Emir disclosed that over 15,000 households in the llorin emirate, comprising five local government areas of llorin West, llorin East, llorin South, ASA and Moro, received the palliatives. The letter read in part: “I wish to express my profound gratitude to the indigenes, residents and well-wishers of Ilorin Emirate, both home and abroad who donated generously both in kind and cash towards the success of the Ilorin Emirate Palliative Fund.“I am pleased to inform you that the milestone recorded during the historic exercise has further confirmed our commitments to the promotion of love and unity in accordance to the dictates of Allah,’’ he said.
Sulu-Gambari reiterated his commitment to the promotion of peaceful co-existence among the people in Ilorin emirate and the state. The royal father prayed to God to “save the society from the calamities of COVID-19 pandemic,” NAN reports.
