Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has said that his administration is desperate to commence and complete the proposed Ntigha dry port in Isiala Ngwa
Ikpeazu stated this when he commissioned the first phase of the newly constructed Amaoji Junction-Abayi-Isi Court Road and the flag-off of both the second and final phase at Ntigha, as part of his “Kinetic Abia” projects’ launch and inauguration.
He said that such facility is very critical to the much desired socio-economic development of the state as centre of small and medium size enterprises in the country, adding that when realised, the port would serve both Ndigbo in particular and Nigerians at large.
In his contribution, the representative of Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Uko Nkole, commended Ikpeazu for constructing the road, adding that it would add value to the economy of the area and check rural-urban migration. Similarly, his counterpart of Isiala Ngwa North state constituency in the state House of Assembly and the committee chairman on Works and Projects Monitoring, Hon Ginger Onwusibe, maintained that the constituents would remain grateful to the governor for the road.
