Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo and Olabode George, former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are among the special guests for the fifth annual lecture of Freedom
Gabriel Akinadewo, managing director and editor-in-chief of the newspaper, said the lecture will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos on July 18.The lecture will also have in attendance Gbenga Daniel, former governor of Ogun state, as the chairman of the event while Douye Diri, governor of Bayelsa state, will be the special keynote speaker.
“Since the first edition of our annual lecture, we have been inspired by the commitment of our guests and Nigerians in the quest for a better country through advocacy. “We believe this time around, the same zeal will be deployed to ensuring that Nigeria takes its rightful place in the comity of nations.“Since the ‘change of guard’ at the federal level and in some states on May 29, Nigerians have been yearning for a positive change. Various speakers will use the platform to ventilate their plans for the people, from federal to state and council levels.”
Other guests billed to attend the lecture include: Omoniyi Olubolade, former minister of police affairs and navy captain; Tola Adeniyi, former managing director of Daily Times; Akin Onigbinde, a professor; and Gani Adams, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland. Eze Anaba, president of the Nigerian guild of editors and Maureen Chigbo, president of the guild of corporate online publishers , are chief hosts.
