UniSuper has always been a source of support for the nation’s higher education sector, especially during hard times, says chief executive Peter Chun.
Higher education and research have been hit from multiple angles over the past few years, says the chief executive of UniSuper Peter Chun.
“For more than 40 years we have been in service to the sector, and even while we are now open to all Australians, we enjoy deep partnerships within the sector to this day,” Chun says. “Involvement in an award like this reflects our past as a fund that arose within the higher education sector, but also our present. These awards honour the sector, thousands of whom I’m proud to say are UniSuper members.”Like all sectors, higher education and research was faced with a level of disruption that would be considered unthinkable prior to the pandemic.
With an on-the-ground presence at 35 locations around the country, the super fund prides itself on being where its members live and work every day. More pertinently, that presence means the fund is always there to offer advice and to demonstrate that super isn’t a “set and forget” proposition.
