“Every right-thinking person would and should know that in the operations of a university system, no vice-chancellor has such power to cancel outright the graduation ceremony of students.” Nigeria UNILORIN GraduationCeremony
University of Ilorin has debunked reports that the vice-chancellor “suddenly canceled and stripped graduands off their gowns.”
The Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, said: “Hiding behind the faceless name, Tijani Faraday, these mischief-makers took to the social media last weekend in a fruitless attempt to rubbish the image of the university while maligning the character of its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem”
This purported cancellation reportedly occurred during the fourth induction/oath-taking ceremony for the university’s new Pharmacy graduates last Friday. “But every right-thinking person would and should know that in the operations of a university system, no vice-chancellor has such power to cancel outright the graduation ceremony of students,” Akogun added.
