Africa's Global Bank, United Bank for Africa Plc, has announced a strategic partnership with the Young Lawyers Forum of the Nigerian Bar Association with the aim to propel the professional development of over 50,000 young legal practitioners across Nigeria
The partnership was announced on Friday, July 24, at the bank’s headquarters, UBA House, in Marina, Lagos. This collaboration aligns with UBA’s longstanding commitment to youth empowerment and Nigeria’s socio-economic advancement. “By investing in the professional growth of young lawyers, we’re not just supporting individuals; we’re strengthening the very fabric of our legal system and, by extension, our nation’s development,” she added.
United Bank for Africa is one of the largest employers in the financial sector on the African continent, with 25,000 employees group-wide and serving over 45 million customers globally. Operating in twenty African countries and the United Kingdom, the United States of America, France and the United Arab Emirates, UBA provides retail, commercial and institutional banking services, leading financial inclusion and implementing cutting edge technology.
Just behind Caracas in Venezuela, Karachi in Pakistan, and Yangon in Burma, Lagos, a commercial city in Nigeria, has ranked fourth among the 10 most risky cities in the world for tourists, and Africa's top most dangerous city for travel enthusiasts. The Central Bank of Nigeria received a total bid valued at $1.18 billion from 32 authorised banks in its revived retail Dutch Auction System but accepted a total bid valued at $876.26 million from 26 banks.
