The Environment Cluster, an arm of the Transition Report Review Committee, TRRC, established by the Cross River State government has recommended that

Governor Bassey Otu confiscates all private property built on Cross River Water Board lands without due authorisation.

Between 2015 and 2023 when the tenure of Prof Ben Ayade elapsed, the hectares of the state Water Board land were completely grabbed by government functionaries who erected palatial buildings on it. “It is therefore the strong view of the Cluster that the property standing on the Water Board land belongs to the state government. QED.”

Ironbar assured that they will recover all illegally acquired government property, whether by individuals or organisations.
