Kind, thoughtful, funny and a loving husband and dad
Tributes have been paid to a guitarist who uplifted people with his musical talents and was a loving husband and dad. Andy Abbott from Waterfoot passed away peacefully from pneumonia, aged 61, at Royal Blackburn Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
His wife Alison, said: “Andy was kind, thoughtful, funny and a loving husband and dad. He was a very likeable bloke.”He was born in Manchester to parents Stella and Tony and was brother to Laura and the late Vinny. The former St Mary’s College pupil moved to Rossendale as a teenager with his family. Andy, who worked as a production operative for 15 years, could also play base but he opted to play guitar more often. Alison and Andy met at Bay Horse in Haslingden and got married in 1997 at Ramsbottom Civic Hall.
