Andy Murray and Dan Evans lost their men's doubles quarter final on Thursday evening.
Tributes have poured in for Andy Murray after the Scot played his final professional tennis match at the Olympics.
He told how he had been warned of the terrible legacy of the cyst on his back if he carried on playing.“The past 19 years have been an incredible journey really. I got into the top position in the world rankings and obviously when you get to Grand Slam finals, you are disappointed. “You journalists are a lovely bunch really but I was not that good at English at school so I am not sure that is for me. I have tried commentary and I did not really enjoy it.
"He wanted to play in the singles at Wimbledon as his farewell, but he had to try again here in doubles. "I had to tell him to go out on the court at the end which is typical of him, he would have just left without taking the plaudits, this was super special. Everyone told us how good the Olympics are, and this was emotional for both of us.
Sadiq Khan commented: "Andy Murray until the end. Thank you for the skill, the courage, the joy, the memories - and the drama."
