State Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Mr. Fred Obi, has alleged importation of armed thugs from neighbouring Edo State to cause mayhem and disrupt the governorship and state House of Assembly elections in Delta State.After a stakeholders meeting at the instance of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, in Asaba, Wednesday night, Obi, called for a rancour-free elections, adding that they were all one in the state despite different political affiliations.

“I am, therefore, calling on security agencies to check the inflow of people into Delta State, especially youths, before and during the elections.” He urge Deltans to be peaceful to enable INEC conduct the elections in a violence-free atmosphere, saying there was no need for them to be violent and kill themselves.Meanwhile, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Delta State, Dr. Cyril Omorogbe, has warned against electoral irregularities, insisting that anyone caught would be arrested and prosecuted in line with the relevant laws.
