The Senator representing Gombe Central, Danjuma Goje, has cautioned against the creation of state police in Nigeria.
Giving his submission on a motion on the urgent need to restructure, review, and reorganise Nigeria’s current security architecture, Goje disagreed with the creation of state police.handle as saying, “I am against state police because it is going to create more problems. the issue of unemployment in this country must be tackled.”Also, the Senator representing Taraba Central, Abubakar Yusuf, expressed fear that state police may be hijacked by politicians.
The senator representing Edo South senatorial district, Matthew Urhoghide, suggested that Nigeria security agencies would perform effectively with proper coordination.
