WORKERS in the secretariat of South-East Governors’ Forum have decried the non-payment of their over six months wages.

The leader of the protesters, Nwafor Obodo, who said most of them were employed at the director cadre, expressed dissatisfaction with how projects jointly owned by the five state governors had suffered setback due to poor funding, citing the Ebubeagu security outfit. He said,”The staff of SEGF have not been paid a dime as salaries since February, 2021, and have not been provided with any form of support to cushion the excruciating pains they have been subjected to by those who employed them .

“They have been spending public funds on frivolous things – to obtain patronage from political hirelings, judicial officers and the like.”
