graced a symposium to commemorate the 60th birthday of Kayode Fayemi, the former governor of Ekiti state. The event also witnessed the launch of the Amandla Institute for Policy and Leadership Advancement at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. Other dignitaries at the event included Amina Mohammed, the UN deputy secretary-general, Abiodun Oyebanji, governor of Ekiti state, Bisi Akande, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress ; Yakubu Gowon, the former military head of state; Opeyemi Bamidele, the senate leader; and Niyi Adebayo, former governor of Ekiti, among others.Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano.Also, former South African President Thabo Mbeki delivered the keynote address at the symposium.
The symposium also featured a panel discussion, which focused on ‘Renewing the pan-African ideal for the changing times: The leadership and policy challenges and opportunities’.
