Sharia Court Dissolves Ganduje Daughter’s Marriage News
Asiya through her counsel, Barrister Ibrahim Aliyu Nasarawa, approached the court seeking the dissolution of their marriage, stating that she is fed up.In his response to the claim of the plaintiff, counsel to the respondent, Umar I. Umar, said the claims of the plaintiff were beyond the bride price. Umar said Asiya was in possession of some properties belonging to his client.
Earlier in his response on point of law, Asiya’s counsel told the court that the plaintiff would not relinquish her rights for divorce. He submitted that the plaintiff filed her claim for divorce alone.Delivering the judgement, the judge, Mallam Abdullahi Haliru, said the evidence adduced during the trial proved that the plaintiff received the sum of N50,000.
