Kano: Court dissolves governor’s daughter’s marriage, orders refund of dowry via xtradotnet

Asiya Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Inuwa Uba’s marriage has been annulled by the Kano State Upper Shari’ah Court using Islamic legal procedures . Through her lawyer, Barrister Ibrahim Aliyu Nassarawa, Asiya Ganduje, the daughter of the governor of Kano state, petitioned the court to end her marriage, explaining that she was fed up and ready to return the sum of N50,000 she had received as dowry.
In response to the plaintiff’s claim, Umar I Umar, counsel for the defendant, contended that Asiya retained some properties belonging to his client and that the plaintiff’s claim went beyond the dowry alone.If you enjoy this story, please do not forget to check out our other news stories:
