In an effort to ensure safe motherhood, the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan, has donated haematinics and other hospital equipment, as well as
“We are not unaware that some of our mothers cannot afford most of these routine drugs talkless of access to quality healthcare. That’s why we make this donations today for free distribution to deserving mothers and children of Bundu community.
“We are hopeful and trusting strongly that the management of this health centre will do the needful with the administration of these drugs so that our mothers will live longer and our children grow stronger. “Dear friends, this is a pilot scheme. We shall be back to evaluate the expected impact in this community so as to form the basis of extension of the scheme to other communities.”
Receiving the donations on behalf of the health centre, the Permanent Secretary, State Primary Healthcare Management Board, Dr. Agiriye Harry, thanked Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan, for their efforts in caring for mothers and children. Harry, who was represented by Dr. Obele Abbe, assured the Rotarians of the judicious use of the hospital equipment and routine drugs.
